Abu Dhabi: Sorouh Real Estate, the Abu Dhabi-based real estate
developer, on Tuesday announced that Richard Amos has been appointed
Chief Financial Officer.
Amos
takes over starting August 15. He has more than 25 years experience in
banking and finance. He was general manager at National Bank of Abu
Dhabi.
An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers,
Amos started his career at Barclays PLC culminating as CEO of Barclays
Private Bank.
He then went on to work for Credit Suisse First Boston as Managing Director of Private Banking based in London.
Mounir D. Haidar, CEO
of Sorouh, said: "This is an important appointment as we navigate the
business through the current cycle. Richard's considerable expertise in
finance, banking and most recently property development, coupled with
his in-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi, makes him uniquely placed to
strengthen our relationship with the investment community and help
position the company as markets recover."
Amos said he looked
forward to joining Sorouch, which he said has "an excellent portfolio
of developments and has lead the way in developing impressive
initiatives to support its customer and sub-developers."
"Importantly
it has a good financial track record, with a strong balance sheet and a
prudent approach to cost management. I admire the company's progressive
approach to communications with the financial community and its
approach to corporate governance," he said.
